I have recently had a couple of gall bladder attacks and went to my primary care doctor. After seeing her, she sent me for an ultrasound of my gall bladder...I have gall stones. After waiting for over two weeks to see the surgeon at Barnes-Jewish (in St Louis due to my previous heart issues) I will need surgery. I have opted to wait as long as I can, as the scheduling is becoming difficult...and I cannot really miss any work before MAP testing.
I have looked on the positive side...I have lost over 20 pounds since this all has began! I honestly feel this is God's way of helping my on my weightloss journey! I have tried so many diets! If I eat junk now...I will be in pain! Thank you Lord for your gentle touch and loving care through this whole thing. Guide me Lord, to continue to be in your will for my life!!

YES--I did it!
I am so pumped right now! I just did the whole 5K in 54:24 minutes! I did a total of 4.5 miles---and a set of planks. I am so happy with myself--I didn't think I could do it--but WOW!
I was able to run a 5.0 mph for 45 seconds and a 4.5 mph for over a minute. I walked at least a 3.5 mph the rest of the time!
My goal for next week, walk/run a 5K in less than 50 minutes. I will keep everyone posted!
Thank you Jesus for this great accomplishment--that I greatly needed today of all days! I love you Jesus!
FYI--slight change in plans for the 5K in May--Other things have come up so I will not be able to do the one on the 21st---SO I AM SEARCHING FOR ONE--let me know if you know of one..I would love to do it for a great cause!

Date with Gym!
What a crazy day!
I had a lot on my plate today---and some how I still managed to make it to the gym--the big date!!
Tonight I went to the gym and did my workout--1 mile on the treadmill---I ran more tonight than before! I am so excited and ready to try it again tomorrow--more distance and more running time! Samantha and I also did a 3 set rotation of 4 different exercises.
My goal on plank--5 minutes by May 21st (the big 5K date!) When I first started the going back to the gym in November I was barely able to hold a plank for 30 seconds, I have made it up to a good 2 minutes and a few more seconds...any tips on how to stay focused long enough and fight through the back pain??

Training for the 5K
Last week I finally went to the gym--with a new workout partner--Samantha (a gal from church). I walked and ran a little on the treadmill for about 1 hour and I almost finished the whole 5K in that time (which I was very proud of myself)! I think the exact mileage was 2.87 or something like that! I have to say I didn't think that I was going to be able to do this 5K in enough time and feel "good" about it!
I am so excited to get back on the treadmill and see if I can complete the whole 5K under 60 minutes! That is my goal--which for a gal of my size is pretty good I think!
