YES--I did it!

I am so pumped right now!  I just did the whole 5K in 54:24 minutes!  I did a total of 4.5 miles---and a set of planks.  I am so happy with myself--I didn't think I could do it--but WOW! 

I was able to run a 5.0 mph for 45 seconds and a 4.5 mph for over a minute.  I walked at least a 3.5 mph the rest of the time! 

My goal for next week, walk/run a 5K in less than 50 minutes.  I will keep everyone posted!

Thank you Jesus for this great accomplishment--that I greatly needed today of all days!  I love you Jesus!

FYI--slight change in plans for the 5K in May--Other things have come up so I will not be able to do the one on the 21st---SO I AM SEARCHING FOR ONE--let me know if you know of one..I would love to do it for a great cause!

Date with Gym!

What a crazy day!

I had a lot on my plate today---and some how I still managed to make it to the gym--the big date!!

Tonight I went to the gym and did my workout--1 mile on the treadmill---I ran more tonight than before!  I am so excited and ready to try it again tomorrow--more distance and more running time!  Samantha and I also did a 3 set rotation of 4 different exercises. 

My goal on plank--5 minutes by May 21st (the big 5K date!)  When I first started the going back to the gym in November I was barely able to hold a plank for 30 seconds, I have made it up to a good 2 minutes and a few more seconds...any tips on how to stay focused long enough and fight through the back pain??

Training for the 5K

Last week I finally went to the gym--with a new workout partner--Samantha (a gal from church).  I walked and ran a little on the treadmill for about 1 hour and I almost finished the whole 5K in that time (which I was very proud of myself)!  I think the exact mileage was 2.87 or something like that!  I have to say I didn't think that I was going to be able to do this 5K in enough time and feel "good" about it! 


I am so excited to get back on the treadmill and see if I can complete the whole 5K under 60 minutes!  That is my goal--which for a gal of my size is pretty good I think!

Always willing to try again!

Same idea, same problems--same excuses!

Nothing seems to change, but the number on the scale--and of course...it goes the WRONG WAY!  I am so sick of looking back and saying, if I would have stuck with it...I would be at my goal weight! 

Tomorrow is a new day--and I plan on using my "new" gym membership (I joined back in November) and contacting my trainer again---I used him for 4 weeks---and was amazed at my outcome--but of course---I thought I could do it--and well needless to say--you all know what happened.
